Title: FS/FT: Sharon Tate Signed Kids Books

Blog Entry: Several months ago, I ran across a woman who had just sold a couple of childrens books that were gifted by Sharon Tate to her sister Patti, and inscribed. I got in contact with her to see if she had anymore, and to my luck, she had not finished selling the small archive. I managed to buy the five the woman had remaining, but I missed out on a few that had already sold, including one that had a letter from Sharon Tate's mother stuffed inside it. Doh! Here is the back story from the woman I bought them from: "In October 2007 my husband and I attended an estate sale in Clemson SC of a retired Clemson professor and his wife whome had passed away some five years earlier. His last name was Bradbury. The estate was being sold and the money was to go into a fund to help mantain their daughters living expenses who had been in a mental institution since the late 1980's in Atlanta Georgia. We along with 3 other people bought he majority of the contents of the home. there were hundreds of books of every sort and in this collection we ran across a box marked Dallas and in the box it contained several childrens books all of which were to somone named Patti and they were signed by Sharon Tate. We did not know who this was and only learned later WHO Sharon Tate was. We did some research on them by speaking with the other people at the auction and finally by a chance meeting with the lady who had handled the estate sale herself. It seems that the professor had lived in Dallas Texas for some times in the late 50's tot he eearly 60's. During that time he was in the military service and thru that his daughter somehow became friends with Patti tate. She even lived with Patti Tate in LA California for a time. None of this was disclosed at the estate sale and we only learned of the connection afterwards. Also, we had had some questions regarding the way it was signed Sharon Tate and was informed that Sharon ALWAYS signed her name using both Sharon and Tate and never just signed Sharon as one would think since this was to her sister. We have sold several of the books, and two collectors who have purchased books from us are currently working on films about the life of Sharon Tate" At any rate, they've been sitting around for a while, and though someone out here might want to buy them off me, or trade me for something. I would have just posted a classified ad, but if nobody is interested in the next couple of days... they are going on eBay.
