Blog Entry: I feel society has hit kind of a road block. As anyone can see, western civilization has definately advanced from it's meager beginings. Durration of life has extended. Quality of life has improved. Ideas are spread over a wider area, faster. There's more religeous freedom. And the list goes on... I'm sure I don't need to explain it all. But here's my Problem... I think that we are holding ourselves back by permiting the existace of, and even catering to people who have an anti-progressive mind set. We have permited them to be placed in positions of influence and power. Society could be moving forward in leaps and bounds, if not for these people. So, here is an incomplete list of the general types of people I feel we should do away with, and why. I'm deliberatly avoiding name-dropping, but I'm sure you can think of a few people in specific that fit the bill Anti-Abortionists: these backwater folks are clinging to some bizare concept that "God" created every life for a purpose. Really? So what about E-Coli? that's alive... and a fetus, is by all definitions a parasite, until the 3rd trimester. And furthermore, these embrios contain stem cells that can greatly help those that ARE alive. Religeous Fanatics: Ok, so blowing up themselves and eachother, and living in comunes with 30/40 wives, and other related activities was kind of amusing for a while. Now, it's just annoying. And so far as the statement they're making... LOL. Go ahead, kill me in the name of your God. I dare you. Cause, you know what will happen if you do? Esentially nothing. The nation will mourn for a short bit, a hand full of people who knew me will mourn a bit longer, the US will kill some innocents, and no one will really understand the point you were trying to make. So HA! While I'll still be dead, your point will not be made, or even understood, and your cause will not be advanced. Celebrities who are too stupid/detached from the rest of our society to take up a cause: Yes, yes... i know... you're tired of hearing about the starving kids in Africa... but u know what? They're in an influential position, and they're using it to help in the best way they know how. And alot of times it helps the metaphoric "You and Me". A certian someone we all love to despise gave millions of dollars in computers to our schools (because he gave computers instead of money, the administaters couldn't misuse the funds for their own purposes). But those celebrities who don't have a cause to support... what good are they doing? Just keeping all the money you just gave them for themselves. At least with the do-gooders, there's a chance i might see that $10's i spent on their movie back in the hands of someone who really needs it. People who love republican candidates: have you not seen what's happened to the united states in the last 8 years? People who hate republican candidates: for all your bitching and griping, you aren't doing much about it... stand up, protest. fuck the war. fuck tax breaks for the rich. MARCH DAMMIT! I mean, even the Hippies, stoned as they were, had the energy to resist! and if you can't think of anything to protest, then go big! Protest the fact that the republicans are even permited to put a candidate on the upcoming pesidential ballot. Yes, you can protest that. You can protest any damn thing you like! I have a feeling there will be more later... and please, tell me about anyone i might have forgoten to add on here.
