Blog Entry: Resident evil movies. So the tirade continues. Resdient is a 1996 video game on the PS1, called Biohazard in Japan. it now has a remake on a newer system, as well as a prequal, and several sequals. It has several comic books, as well as novels. The first game was basically. A group of S.T.A.R. members and some other survivors run inside a giant mansion during a zombie infestation. You play inside the mansion, killing zombies, including mutated zombies. As well as zombified animals. Now the first Resident evil movie introduces a totally made up charactor and unjustifably declared the main charactor and the entire story revolves around this totally made up charactor. Instead of taking place in the mansion and even giving us any actual charactors from the game. The movie takes place in the lab, and gives all made up charactors. Now, I thought it was a okay film. I also read that the director said that he wanted to show where the viruses came from, then lead up to the mansion. Before I read that, I thought mmmm, maybe in the next film, it will actually follow the game. The interview clarified it. I was okay with that. But damn, was I wrong and oh was he a fucking liar. The sequal came out and from the very start, I realized. I had the revelation. He wasn't going to follow the story what so fucking ever. He never even planned to. It takes place in the streets, it never ever leads up to the mansion. The 3rd game is mixed in with this suppose to be version of the first video game. All the charactors from the first game were in this one, but they never ever got to show who they even were. They werent given any charactor developement what so ever, and weren't even on screen for very long, probably for 5 minutes before they got all got killed complete opposite of the actual game. the story revolves around a little girl, and a scientist who again are totally made up. The made up charactor from the first film is given super human abilities..... The main charactor from the actual game was in it. But of course was not interesting at all, wasnt the main charactor in the film, was basically a uninteresting sidekick. Very bland. As well as the fact that when she finally get's to show off, her scene is stolen by the made up charactor with magic powers. What a fucking insult. Finally does something, and its stolen. The third, takes place in..... *drum roll* a desert. yes a desert. For a video game that has always taken place in a city/county/nieghborhood, the third movie takes place in a desert. What a joke. They add two other main charactors from the game, and again, nothing like the actual charactors from the video game, they don't even look like them selfs. Again, what a fucking joke. All 3 movies. This is not resident evil. You want to know in lamen terms what he basically did? He took the name resident evil, took it's premise of the virus and zombies. Took charactor's names, and in some cases stole scenes from the games and instead of making the scenes accurate to the game made it inaccurate, as well as gave the scenes to the made up charactor. That is pretty much all he did. He should be sued for plagiarism. But of course that would be impossible since the owners gave him permission. Clearly they had to be on crack, maybe meth. The director is the same guy who made the movie Mortal Kombat. A PG13 movie based on a arcade game that was responsible for getting the warning/age rating labels on video games to prevent kids from gruesome violence. They had to be on something, that or have the same philophy as the fictional gods of our time "maybe just maybe, doesnt give a shit." So two possibilities. They were on drugs, or just didnt give a fuck. The 1942 movie cat people had nothing to do with cats. The producer would give the director a title and have him make what ever movie he wanted, and the title of the movie would be the title the producer gave. Apparently that is what paul the director of the resident evil movies did. It is clear as day by the evidence. Resident evil movie gets 5 out of 10. Resident evil movie sequal gets 4 out of 10. Resident evil third sequal gets 4 out of 10. As video game adaptions all 3 get 2 out of 10. FUCK YOU pAUL!!!!! [the middle finger lining wouldnt really work on here. =[ ]
